The Philadelphia Eagles are now 4-1 heading into their Week 6 matchup against the New York Giants on a short week for Thursday Night Football.
After starting the season undefeated, the Eagles finally lost to the Broncos, which seemed like an inevitability when the offense yet again stalled in the second half. The offense was so bad that Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and Saquon Barkley all met to try and get on the same page, Barkley admitted the pass play that resulted in his TD wasn’t even in the play book, and the head coach and and OC have given no concrete answers on their plans to fix a long list of issues.
In addition to the frustrating offensive performances, several players are dealing with injuries, penalties continue to be a problem, and the defense and special teams deserve a better contribution from the offense. The defense had some issues late in the game against the Broncos, allowing for Denver to come back to win, but they had been on the field all day thanks to an ineffective offense, and have been more good than bad through five games.
Now, on a short week, and with little time to re-scheme things, the Eagles will have to play at MetLife Stadium and then try and take advantage of the mini-bye week coming off a Thursday night game.
