Malik Nabers’ knee surgery set for this week

New York Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers will undergo surgery this week for the Week 4 knee injury that ended his 2025 NFL season, per a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Nabers suffered a torn ACL and a torn meniscus trying to catch a deep pass from quarterback Jaxson Dart early in last Sunday’s victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Nabers, 22, has also been dealing with other injuries all season.

Schefter’s report revealed that the toe injury that kept Nabers out of spring practices and has remained an issue is turf toe. Nabers had also been dealing with what had been called a shoulder injury. Schefter reported that as a partially torn labrum.

Schefter said surgery was considered but rejected for the labrum. Nabers had said when training camp began that “there’s been talk” about toe surgery but indicated it wasn’t something he wanted. The toe injury is something that Nabers has been dealing with for several years

Schefter reported that Nabers is expected to be ready for 2026 training camp. The hope is that if the knee, toe and labrum all heal properly Nabers would be healthier entering 2026 than at any time since “maybe high school.”

Nabers caught a franchise-record 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie in 2024. That mark is second in NFL history for rookies behind Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, who caught 112 passes last season. Nabers had 18 catches for 271 yards and two touchdowns this season. His 127 receptions through the first 19 games of his career stand to rank second to Odell Beckham Jr. in NFL history for the most catches through 20 games.
