Giants vs. Saints, Week 5: Numbers that matter

Here is a look at some numbers to know for Sunday’s matchup between the New York Giants and New Orleans Saints.

From NextGen Stats

  • The Giants have used spread formations on a league-high 39.7% of their offensive plays this season but have decreased their spread formation usage in recent weeks. After deploying spread formations on 43.3% of plays during Weeks 1-2, the Giants reduced this rate to 36.2% during Weeks 3-4, representing a 7.1 percentage point decrease. Against the Chargers in Week 4 when using spread formations, the Giants generated just 39 passing yards, their fewest in a game this season, while accumulating 89 rushing yards, their most in a game this season (+36 RYOE). Matchup: The Saints defense has allowed only 4.4 yards per attempt (3rd-fewest) and 5.8 yards per carry against spread formations this season, with the latter figure nearly a yard above league average.
  • Jaxson Dart had 1 pass touchdown, 1 rush touchdown, and no interceptions in his first career start in Week 4. The only rookie quarterbacks since 1970 with 1+ pass touchdown & 1+ rush touchdown in each of their first 2 NFL starts were DEN Tim Tebow in 2010 (1-1 W-L) & CAR Cam Newton in 2011 (lost both games).
  • Spencer Rattler has thrown 5 pass touchdowns and just 1 interception in 2025. That is the best TD-INT ratio by any QB with 100+ pass attempts but zero wins over the team’s first 4 games of a season since the 1970 merger. The record was previously held by Warren Moon’s 4-1 TD-INT ratio through 4 games in 1970.
  • Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart threw 65% of his passes in under 2.5 seconds in Week 4, the fifth-highest quick pass rate in a game this season. Dart recorded 67 of his 111 passing yards and 1 touchdown on quick throws and maintained a success rate of 53.8% on such attempts, double his 25% success rate on throws longer than 2.5 seconds.
