The Philadelphia Eagles will start Kelee Ringo — not Adoree’ Jackson — at cornerback in the team’s Week 5 home game against the Denver Broncos.

This much according to both

1) A report from the Inquirer’s Jeff McLane:

And more confirmation noted by BGN alumnus Jimmy Kempski:

Ringo previously started in place of Jackson in Week 4 but the latter corner was ruled doubtful to play due to a groin injury. Jackson returned to practice in full this week and was listed without a game status, so, it’s not like injury is preventing him from starting this time.

Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ringo fared well in coverage with just a 42.4 passer rating allowed when targeted. The Bucs oddly didn’t test him much, though, instead opting to go after Quinyon Mitcehll for some reason. That didn’t work out too well for them.

Ringo did struggle with tackling last weekend; he was marked down for three misses and they weren’t pretty. He’ll need to show better effort and fundamentals in this regard moving forward.

The Eagles originally hoped that Ringo would be their Week 1 starting cornerback but the 2023 fourth-round pick lost the CB2 competition by struggling in the summer. He fell behind not only Jackson but also Jakorian Bennett on the depth chart. Bennett is currently spending time on injured reserve and it remains to be seen when he’ll be able to return but he’s not eligible to play until Week 8 at the earliest.

If Ringo struggles again, we could see Vic Fangio pivot back to the veteran Jackson. Bennett could also eventually be in the mix. Ideally, though, Ringo can seize this job and not look back.

It’ll be interesting to see how Ringo fares against the Broncos on Sunday.
