Tyree Wilson’s play time increases some

There are four players from the Las Vegas Raiders 2023 draft class currently on the 53-man roster. Here is a look at how they fared in a 25-24 Week 4 loss to the Chicago Bears and looking ahead to Sunday’s road game at the Indianapolis Colts. Kickoff is set for 10 am. PT.

Tyree Wilson:

The No. 7 overall draft pick didn’t play much in Weeks 2 and 3, but his snap count did increase against the Bears. Wilson played 45 percent of the snaps. It’s still not a lot, but it is more. He had one tackle and made it count as it was a sack. Wilson has two sacks on the season. But it’s clear he’s just a rotational player. Let’s see if he can keep his snap count up.

Michael Mayer:

The second-round pick from Notre Dame did not play in Week 4 because of a concussion he suffered early in a Week loss at Washington. It remains to be seen if he will be ready to Sunday,

Tre Tucker:

The speedy third-round pick played a season-high 98 percent of the seasons (he’s been enough 90 percent in every game) against the Bears after he had a career day with eight catches for 145 yards and three touchdowns catches in a blowout defeat at Washington. As has been the case in his career, Tucker couldn’t keep the high production up. He had two catches for 13 yards. He was targeted by quarterback Geno Smith just twice, though. So, the lack of production is on everyone involved with the Raiders’ offensive-decision making process. He has shown he can produce big. He needs the opportunities. Targeting a receiver who is on the field 98 percent of the snaps just twice (aa week after a career game) doesn’t make much sense.

Chris Smith:

The fifth-round safety from Georgia didn’t play on defense (he’s played three snaps this season) and played 20 snaps on special teams, which is in his usual range.
