Random Ramsdom: Are they going to be over it by Sunday?

Will the Los Angeles Rams going be over their brutal loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in time to show up for their game against the Indianapolis Colts? Of course, the Rams will be there physically, but what about mentally? As a fan, I have been so disappointed because I’ll admit, when they were up 26-7, I thought the Rams were going to win.

Whereas last year, I never really expected them to the beat the Eagles, and so, this one hurts in a way that their losses last year didn’t. That’s how I feel. Even if they make it to the playoffs, they won’t be able to beat the best teams, and the weight of that has hit me very hard as a fan today.

But they are the pros, I am a fan, they are supposed to be able to handle this type of adversity better than me, which is one of the reasons they get paid, and I just play football on Madden every now and again.

Please comment on whatever you want, it’s Tuesday and before we know it, it will be Thursday Night Football. On to the next one. Thank you checking out Turf Show Times!

Rams-Eagles ending was a crushing bad beat for some bettors (nypost)

“The Rams, who opened at +4.5 and closed at +3.5, appeared to be very live underdogs through the first half — leading 26-7 after four first half field goals and then scoring a touchdown early in the third quarter.

Yet for all of Los Angeles kicker Joshua Karty’s good fortune, two blocked field goals in the fourth quarter — including a walk-off return — burned Rams bettors in devastating fashion.“

Rams star sounds off after last-second loss to Eagles: ‘We had that game won’ (nj.com)

PHILADELPHIA — The statistics don’t lie: the Los Angeles Rams had a 91% chance to win with a 19-point lead entering the fourth quarter Sunday.

Instead, they watched the Philadelphia Eagles complete an epic comeback, scoring 26 unanswered points to win in unthinkable fashion, 33-26. Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis blocked a field goal and returned it for a 61-yard touchdown as time expired.“

Nick Sirianni sends warning to Eagles after insane comeback vs. Rams (sports.yahoo.com)

“Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni stresses the importance of staying focused no matter the situation.

“We have to keep our emotions in check,” he said, per The Athletic’s Brooks Kubena. “‘He’s reserved at the podium while acknowledging how emotional the win was. They have to stay mentally tough he says, to manage the swells of a game, the crackdowns of the league on penalties like taunting.’”

Random Fandom from the other side:

“Eagles fan take here. Yes it is most definitely a rivalry. Although we seem to always beat McVay, Eagles can’t count on late game heroics and winning with 1 possession juju magic. Our new OC is alarmingly conservative. We did nothing until they basically went up tempo and let Jalen call the game. The Rams matched up well physically yesterday after getting pushed around last year. Your run game was dominant at times and I don’t understand why the Rams didn’t stay with it more in the 2nd half. And obviously your D-Line has several elite playmakers. Jared Verse absolutely planted Jalen a couple of times yesterday. That’s one of the reasons we love our QB – tough as nails, those hits knock a lot of QB’s out of the game. Rams do need to find some answers at CB and the leaky O-Line. Stafford can’t keep taking some of the hits he’s been taking. But trust me as an Eagles fan that we don’t really want to play you guys in the playoffs again. The Rams came closest to knocking the Birds off in last year’s SB run and yesterday’s game is one where we win that maybe 1 out of 10 times. If you can get Stafford to the finish line without being killed the Rams would be a very tough out again in the playoffs. To paraphrase Apollo Creed “Don’t want no rematch.” -Iggle1965
