The Philadelphia Eagles didn’t turn their back on Big Dom when he was suspended from being on the field for the final few games of the 2023 season. In fact, they gave him an expanded role, making him a game day feature on the sideline. During the team’s 2025 preseason game against the Jets, that reportedly cost Dom DiSandro $75,000 as he was seen texting from the bench area.
According to league source eagles head of security/coach Dom DiSandro was fined 75 thou this past week for texting from the bench area during the Jets preseason game…the team filed an appeal but it was denied …

The Eagles filed an appeal, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, that argued Big Dom only actually had one foot in the bench area when he was on the phone. Apparently that wasn’t convincing enough for the league, who ultimately doled out a pretty sizeable fine.
If nothing else, it seems like the NFL is keeping an eye on Big Dom and his involvement with the team’s game day operations. He is a very important part of the Eagles organization and locker room, and his role on the sideline continues to evolve — but, he should be more careful to avoid unnecessary attention.
