The third Sunday of the 2025 NFL regular season is here!
Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the remaining Week 3 games.
EAGLES GAME
LOS ANGELES RAMS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: The Eagles will be 3-0 with a win. And they’ll own a valuable head-to-head tiebreaker over LA. Go Birds.
NFC EAST
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at WASHINGTON COMMANDERS: The Eagles would love to see the Marcus Mariota-led Commanders lose to the Raiders and drop to 1-2. Root for the Raiders.
DALLAS COWBOYS at CHICAGO BEARS: There’s absolutely zero chance the Cowboys lose this game because Caleb Williams is terrible. But the Eagles would love to see Dallas lose to drop to 1-2. Root for da Bears.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS at NEW YORK GIANTS: I’d usually say it’s too early in the season to be rooting for the Giants to win games. But I’d argue a win over the Chiefs does more harm than good since 1) it’ll lead them to wasting more time by playing Russell Wilson instead of Jaxson Dart and 2) beating an AFC team doesn’t do much to undo the 0-2 hole they’re in with two division losses. Also, could be funny to see the Chiefs start 0-3. Root for the Giants.
NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
ATLANTA FALCONS at CAROLINA PANTHERS: The Eagles would prefer a non-Bucs team to win the NFC South. The Falcons are the most realistic alternative to Tampa. Root for the Falcons.
GREEN BAY PACKERS at CLEVELAND BROWNS: The Packers are contending for the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff picture. The Eagles would like to see them lose. Root for the Browns.
CINCINNATI BENGALS at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: The Vikings winning the NFC North is preferable to the Packers or Lions winning their division. Time to put any disdain for Carson Wentz aside. Root for the Vikings.
NEW YORK JETS at TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: Normally the Eagles want the Jets to lose since Philly owns New York’s third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. But the Bucs being a threat to the Eagles in the NFC is more relevant than the draft pick rooting interest here. Although you can look at a Jets loss as a consolation prize. Root for the Jets.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: The Seahawks winning the NFC West would be preferable to the 49ers doing so. Root for the Seahawks.
ARIZONA CARDINALS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: Thanks to the Bryce Huff trade, the Eagles own the 49ers’ fifth-round pick (though it could reportedly elevate to a fourth-round pick if Huff gets at least eight sacks and he has one so far) in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the 49ers lose, the more favorable the pick will be for the Birds. Also, the 49ers are banged up at the moment but they’re ultimately the bigger threat to the Eagles in the NFC. Root for the Cardinals.
DETROIT LIONS at BALTIMORE RAVENS: The Eagles would prefer for neither the Lions nor Packers to win the NFC North. Root for the Ravens.
WHAT’S LEFT
PITTSBURGH STEELERS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: The Eagles want a non-Jets team to win the AFC East. And non-Jets teams to get the AFC wild card spots. Root for the Patriots.
HOUSTON TEXANS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: No Eagles impact.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at TENNESSEE TITANS: No Eagles impact.
DENVER BRONCOS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: No Eagles impact.
