Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Joseph Ossai received a letter from the NFL that no player is too happy to receive. After reviewing the Week 2 penalties and issuing fines, the NFL docked Ossai $11,593 for a facemask penalty in the Bengals win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Ossai was also flagged on the play, but the league deemed that wasn’t enough punishment.
Ossai does have the ability to appeal the fine, but the likelihood of him winning likely isn’t high enough to make it worth the effort. Ossai was the only Bengal fined for any actions in Week 2
Ossai, who is back with Cincinnati on a one-year contract, hasn’t recorded a sack yet this season but with Shemar Stewart sidelined, Ossai should get even more pass rush reps until Stewart returns.
Now, we just hope an increase in snaps leads to more production on the field and less fines handed down by the league.
