As the Cincinnati Bengals wrap up their week of practice before departing to Minnesota to take on the Vikings, Head Coach Zac Taylor delivered some less than promising injury news.
Cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt (hamstring) is doubtful for Sunday, per Taylor. With a matchup vs. Justin Jefferson looming, the Bengals will likely look to Josh Newton to replace Taylor-Britt. There is an outside chance Dax Hill moves to outside corner, with Newton taking over in the slot.
On the other side, cornerback DJ Turner II (hamstring) should be good to go, Taylor says. Hamstring injuries can be tricky, so Turner is still a name to watch not only leading up to Sunday, but as the game progresses. He was officially listed as questionable on the final injury report.
Defensive end Shemar Stewart (ankle) was also ruled out.
For Minnesota, quarterback J.J. McCarthy (ankle) was ruled out, along with starting running back Aaron Jones (hamstring), who was actually placed on injured reserve.
Minnesota’s offensive line is also extremely banged up. Center Ryan Kelly (concussion) and offensive tackle Justin Skule (concussion) were both ruled out. Offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw (knee) is listed as questionable.
Safety Harrison Smith (illness), linebacker Austin Keys (groin) and linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (concussion) are all questionable.
