There are only two active players in the NFL who were born in the country of Zimbabwe: LB Nate Landman of the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles DB Andrew Mukuba. Their teams will square off in Week 3 when the Eagles host the Rams and each player has made key plays and contributed to 2-0 starts.
It begs the question to Rams fans: Where do you hail from?
Landman was the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for the Rams’ season opener versus the Houston Texans. He earned 10 total tackles and forced a fumble that effectively ended Houston’s comeback attempt. Landman spent the last several seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. He’s now LA’s “green dot” guy and defensive signal caller on defense.
Mukuba is a rookie second round pick out of Texas. He was the beneficiary of a tipped pass from Travis Kelce last week where he returned an interception 41 yards in Philly’s suffocating win over KC. He also recorded a half sack on Patrick Mahomes.
This matchup doesn’t just feature the two active players from the same country. Both Landman and Mukuba will play major roles on the defensive side of the ball for their respective teams.
All eyes will be on the Rams and Eagles this weekend. This is a highly anticipated rematch of the 2024 NFC divisional round with two 2-0 teams, and the winner will be inserted in the contention consideration among the best in the conference.
So Landman and Mukuba are from Zimbabwe, but where are you from? Rams fans live all over the world, including St. Louis and Los Angeles, so where are you from and where do you live? Let us know in the comments!
