Lets’ look at how the Las Vegas Raiders’ 2023 draft class fared in a 20-9 home loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2 and a look ahead at Sunday’s road game at the Washington Commanders. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. PT.
Tyree Wilson:
The No. 7 overall draft pick played just 24 percent of the snaps in Week 2 after playing 53 percent in Week One.. He didn’t appear to make an impact against the Chargers. It was the second fewest snaps he’s played when he wasn’t injured. Consistency has been a career-long issue for the No. 7 overall pick. We have to see if this snap decrease becomes a trend.
Michael Mayer:
The second-round pick from Notre Dame was quiet compared to week 1. Mayer played just 34 percent of the snaps and had nine yards on two catches. Mayer played 63.5 percent of the offensive plays and he had four catches for 38 yards at New England. He has caught all six of his targeted passes this season. The Raiders need to keep trying to get him involved.
Tre Tucker:
The speedy third-round pick was targeted eight times in Week 2. He caught three of those passes for 12 yards. He’s played 90 and 91 percent of the snaps this season. He has five catches for 66 yards. Las Vegas would like to see increased production from a wide receiver logging starters’ snaps.
Chris Smith:
The fifth-round safety from Georgia played two defensive snaps in addition to playing 16 snaps on special teams. He played a total of 33 defensive snaps in his first two seasons.
