NFL Week 3 Odds: Rams slight underdogs in NFC Divisional rematch

The Los Angeles Rams had an offensive resurgence of sorts on route to a commanding win over the Tennessee Titans 33-19 Sunday. LA is 2-0 on the season, and after two out of conference victories, the team now face their first inner conference matchup against the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

The Rams (+3.5) open as slight underdogs in this game, getting three and a half points from the Eagles (-3.5) according to FanDuel Sportsbook. LA is also a +150 bet straight up, while Philadelphia is at -178. The over/under is at 44.5, on par with the teams most recent 28-22 matchup where the they combined for 50 points.

The Rams no doubt have this game circled on their calendar after losing a very close NFC Divisional round playoff game to Philly to end their season last year. When asked in the offseason which game DT Kobie Turner was looking forward to playing in 2025, he specifically mentioned this Week 3 matchup as his top choice.

“I’ve had that loss in the back of my mind for a while,” Turner said. “Obviously, it’s on to a new season and on to continue to progress, but I definitely have — I believe it’s Week 3 — circled. I mean, even in the individual training right now, we’re breaking down, ‘OK, this is how some of the guys, some of the offensive linemen for the Eagles, this is how they block, and this is how we’re going to defeat that.’”

While Los Angeles might be hungry to write their previous wrong, the Eagles look to be a NFC powerhouse once again in 2025, also coming into Sunday with a 2-0 record. Also hurting LA is the loss of CB Ahkello Witherspoon to a broken clavicle, which could pose trouble with Pro Bowler wide receivers A.J. Brown and Davonte Smith on the opposite side. Head coach Sean McVay says it’s a “big loss” for the team, however he’s comfortable with the depth the team has behind Witherspoon to respond.

“I feel terrible for Ahkello,” McVay said. “Love him, such a bummer. But you do feel fortunate to have the depth where you know a guy like D-Will (Williams) can step up to supplement both Cobie and Forbes.”

Luckily, Rams second-year defensive tackle Braden Fiske, who tweaked his oblique pre-game vs the Titans but was able to power through the game, is on the mend and expected to be ready to roll. Philadelphia on the other hand is not really dealing with many major injuries heading into Sunday, however starting TE Dallas Goedert missed their most recent game so it will remain to be seen what his status will be this week.

The Rams and Eagles looks to be a brawl, with two teams that could very well represent the NFC in the 2025 Super Bowl. I like Los Angeles to get a signature victory over Philadelphia in this one. While the Eagles are dangerous, I just don’t think they’ve looked great against either the Cowboys or Chiefs, where as the Rams offense seems to be on the upswing and their defense has only allowed one touchdown so far this season. I also am taking the over given that both have high-powered offenses and they went over 44.5 in their last matchup.
