The NFL Week 2 aftermath features some quarterback injury news that impacts the Philadelphia Eagles (Jalen Hurts is fine, to be clear).
J.J. McCarthy will miss two-to-four weeks with a high ankle sprain, according to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter. The Minnesota Vikings’ backup quarterback is … Carson Wentz! The former Eagles starter will finally get the chance to play with Justin Jefferson. If McCarthy doesn’t miss more than four weeks, he’ll be back on the field in time for Minny’s Week 7 home game against the Eagles.
Jayden Daniels’ status for the Washington Commanders’ Week 3 game against the Las Vegas Raiders is “in doubt” due to a knee sprain, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Daniels was sacked four times and hit 12 times in the Commanders’ Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers. It sounds like Daniels’ injury isn’t serious but one can wonder if it’ll impact his mobility at all once he returns. In the meantime, Washington will start former Eagles backup quarterback Marcus Mariota. If the Commanders aren’t able to beat the Raiders, they’ll drop to 1-2.
