The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the inactives list for their 2025 NFL Week 2 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The following Eagles players WILL NOT PLAY: Dallas Goedert, Will Shipley, Tanner McKee, Drew Kendall, Azeez Ojulari, and Ogbo Okoronkwo.
Goedert was ruled out on Friday due to a knee injury. Grant Calcaterra figures to start with Kylen Granson serving as the second tight end. The Eagles also temporarily elevated Cameron Latu (who is making his NFL regular season debut) from the practice squad for even more TE depth. Latu might also factor in at fullback in addition to playing special teams.
Shipley was ruled out on Friday due to a rib injury. A.J. Dillon and newcomer Tank Bigsby are the active running backs behind Saquon Barkley. It’ll be interesting to see how the Eagles use Bigsby; he might have a limited role on offense in addition to returning kicks.
McKee is notably designated as the emergency third quarterback, unlike in Week 1. This means he can play if both Jalen Hurts and Sam Howell get knocked out. McKee was ruled questionable on Friday due to a thumb injury. He only began throwing again on Friday, so, he’s not quite ready to play but he could be good to go as QB2 in Week 3.
Kendall is a healthy scratch again. He’s the ninth offensive lineman behind eight active blockers.
Veteran edge rushers Ojulari and Okoronkwo are healthy scratches for the second straight game. Weird that the team feels the need to have seven edge rushers on the roster when two aren’t even playing.
Za’Darius Smith is active to make his Eagles debut after signing with the team on September 5.
Ty Robinson is active after being a healthy scratch in Week 1. The rookie is likely the fifth defensive tackle behind Jalen Carter, Moro Ojomo, Jordan Davis, and Byron Young.
