Every year, SB Nation tracks NFL fans’ confidence levels of their favorite teams with weekly Reacts Surveys posted at their team websites. For Pride of Detroit, we get the pleasure of gauging Detroit Lions fans’ confidence heading into each game.
Heading into Week 1, Lions fans’ confidence was very high, with 94% of fans believing the team was headed in the right direction. That number was slightly down from the Lions’ 2024 season, where they landed between 98 and 99% for the majority of weeks, but confidence was a good spot to start the season nonetheless.
Unfortunately, I have a feeling things will change a bit, following the Lions’ uninspiring loss to the Packers in Week 1.
“We just weren’t good enough, third down, really on either side of the ball, and we kind of dug ourselves in a hole early in that game that we couldn’t quite get out of,” Campbell explained. “We had some miscommunications, some MAs (missed assignments), that really cost us at the worst times, a couple of penalties that bit us. It just wasn’t clean. We didn’t play well. But as I mentioned, it’s all stuff we can clean up. We’ve got to score seven when we get in the red zone; that’s going to be big for us. We’ve got to be able to run the ball. We’ve got a lot of things where, just fundamentally, we were off. We’ve got to get our fundamentals back. We’ve got to go back to work because it really is that simple.”
Now, heading into Week 2 with Ben Johnson’s Chicago Bears on the docket, it’s once again, it’s time to vote.
Throughout the year, we ask questions of the most plugged-in Detroit Lions fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
