Ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to ask you to get those four fingers well above your heads, as we’re heading to the fourth quarter at Soldier Field with your Minnesota Vikings trailing the Chicago Bears by a score of 17-6.

The Bears got the ball first to start the half after deferring on the opening coin toss, and the Bears’ offense went three-and-out, with Caleb Williams throwing as many incompletions as he did in the entire first half on that opening drive. Myles Price got a very nice return on the Tory Taylor punt, and the Vikings started out in Chicago territory for their first possession of the second half.

The Bears were then called for hitting McCarthy in the face on the first offensive play, and the Vikings were nearing the Chicago 30. Then, on a third down play, McCarthy dropped back to pass and hit former Vikings Nahshon Wright. I say former Viking because he plays for the Bears now, and Wright took the pick 74 yards for a Chicago touchdown, with the Cairo Santos extra point making it 17-6 with just under 13 minutes left in the third quarter.

After the teams exchanged punts, the Vikings took over at their own 23-yard line. Unfortunately, the Vikings went three-and-out again with another ugly offensive possession and gave the ball right back. The Bears took over and are once again in Minnesota territory with a chance to extend their lead. But the Vikings made a few nice defensive plays, including a grounding penalty on Williams to force them back.

As we start the fourth quarter, the Bears will line up for a 50-yard field goal attempt from Cairo Santos.

Can the Vikings make a comeback in this one, folks? Not unless a whole lot of things change, as they’re down 17-6 after three quarters of play on Monday Night Football. Come join us for the fourth quarter of play!
