Report: Eagles made biggest trade offer for Micah Parsons

Earlier this week, ESPN reported that the Philadelphia Eagles made a “strong play” to trade for Micah Parsons before the Dallas Cowboys sent him to the Green Bay Packers.

We now have more details about that offer via NFL insider Jay Glazer on the FOX NFL Gameday pregame show:

“The team that actually threw in the biggest offer was the Philadelphia Eagles for two [first-round picks], a [third-round pick], a [fifth-round pick], amongst others things. Obviously, didn’t want to trade him in the division.”

“But the Green Bay Packers, they chimed in early, they kept with it. Kenny Clark was what made the difference for Dallas.“

It would be nice to know exactly what “amongst other things” means. Perhaps one of the Eagles’ defensive linemen not named Jalen Carter?

In any case, it’s not surprising that the Eagles put a stronger offer on the table since the one that the Cowboys accepted for Parsons wasn’t very strong. And we know Howie Roseman is going to be aggressive when it comes to acquiring star talent, especially when it’s at a premium position where the Eagles need help. The Birds recently admitted their deficiency on the edge by signing veteran free agent Za’Darius Smith.

The Eagles reportedly wanted Parsons. Parsons reportedly had interest in joining the Eagles. But it didn’t work out since the Cowboys were too scared to keep him in the division.

Do you wish Dallas accepted the Eagles’ offer? Or are you glad the deal didn’t go through?

And do you think the Eagles are done adding help at edge rusher after signing Smith or might they still be star hunting?
