The Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts are in the final countdown to the start of their 2025 NFL regular season. As the teams prepare to face off in Week 1, they have released their inactive players lists. Teams are allowed only 48 players for their active roster on gameday, with teams needing to list players are “inactive” for the game despite being on the 53-man roster or being elevated from the practice squad. The lists are released 90 minutes before the game.
The Dolphins have listed running back Jaylen Wright, quarterback Quinn Ewers, cornerback Ethan Bonner, tackle Kendall Lamm, tight end Darren Waller, wider eceiver Tahj Washington, and defensive tackle Zeek Biggers as unavailable for the game. Wright, Bonner, and Waller were all ruled out on Friday due to injuries.
Ewers was listed as the team’s emergency third quarterback, allowing him to enter the game should both starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and backup Zach Wilson both get injured.
The good news for Miami is that guard James Daniels was not included on the list, indicating he will be ready to play and should be starting. Wide receiver Dee Eskridge, who was questionable on the Friday injury report as he recovers from a concussion, is also active for the game.
The Colts listed cornerback Johnathan Edwards, running back Tyler Goodson, quarterback Riley Leonard, tight end Will Mallory, linebacker Chad Muma, tackle Luke Tenuta, and defensive end JT Tuimoloau as inactive. Leonard was designated as the emergency third quarterback.
The Dolphins and Colts kick off at 1 p.m. Eastern from Indianapolis’s Lucas Oil Stadium. Television coverage is on CBS.
