The Dalton Risner signing was heralded by fans of the Cincinnati Bengals.
And the veteran free agent who came over from the Minnesota Vikings may well get his opportunity to block for Joe Burrow.
But for now, the starter at right guard on the offensive line for the Bengals in their opener on the road against the Cleveland Browns will be another veteran free agent signing, Lucas Patrick.

Patrick, of course, did not impress for most of the offseason, though he did finish strong in the preseason, highlighted by his solid performance against the Washington Commanders.

Now he gets a big opportunity in a regular season game with a high flying offense.
