The 2025 Detroit Lions have as high of expectations as ever. Despite the talk of regression, the Lions are still considered by most to be a realistic Super Bowl contender this year. Detroit went 15-2 last year, and it’s quite rare for a team that successful to fall off the following year.
But like every team, they are going to have to have some questions to answer, and some mountains to climb. So on this week’s PODcast, the gang does their best to identify the biggest questions to answer—and whether they’re legitimate concerns or just offseason fodder.
For example, how big of a concern are the changes at coordinator? Will the transitions to John Morton and Kelvin Sheppard be seamless? Morton was here for the installment of the offense in 2022, but are there still legitimate concerns about his ability to play call? And while Sheppard has been billed as an Aaron Glenn clone, what new is he going to bring to Detroit’s defense? How will he handle a healthier and stronger roster than Glenn ever had?
We also tackle rookie expectations for Tyleik Williams, Tate Ratledge, and Isaac TeSlaa, and address the biggest question of all: will the Lions offensive line hold up with so many offseason changes?
At the end of the show, we also offer our predictions for the 2025 Lions season. Does the Micah Parsons trade shift the NFC North balance at all? Are the Packers the biggest threat in the division, and if so, how close are they to the Lions in terms of overall talent? Finally, we make our predictions about the floor and ceiling for the Lions’ 2025 season.
