Follow all of our Week 1 coverage as the New York Giants open their season in Landover, Md. against the Washington Commanders right here in our easy to follow Giants-Commanders StoryStream.
The Giants are trying to rebound after going 3-14 last season and a combined 9-25 over the past two seasons. The Commanders went 12-5 last season and won a Wild Card round playoff game.
The Giants feature a revamped quarterback room with Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart and an upgraded defense that has added Abdul Carter, Paulson Adebo, Jevon Holland, Roy Robertson-Harris and Darius Alexander.
The Commanders are led on offense by quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin. They were fifth in the NFL in points scored last season, average 28.5. That will provide a test for the much-hyped Giants defense.
Kickoff on Sunday is at 1 p.m. ET with the game being broadcast on FOX. The Giants are 6.5-point underdogs, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
