Just as they did on Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs listed three players who would miss Wednesday’s practice session at the team practice facility on the grounds of the Truman Sports Complex: linebacker Jack Cochrane (knee), defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott (ankle) and wide receiver Jalen Royals (knee).
Cochrane continues to recover from the knee injury he sustained during Kansas City’s second preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. That’s the same matchup in which Norman-Lott injured his ankle.
Royals is still battling tendonitis in his knee. He was present on Wednesday, but was without a helmet and did not participate in drills. There had been concern that this injury might keep him out of the season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers — but on Wednesday, Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest reported that barring a setback, Royals should be ready to play in Brazil.
Also missing: wide receiver Rashee Rice, whose NFL suspension was made official on Wednesday. According to the league’s press release, it was to begin immediately. We expect that Wednesday’s official transactions report will show he is on the commissioner’s Exempt list.
