Hosting the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3 will not be an easy task for the New York Giants. The Giants, though, appear to be catching a bit of a break as Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice will apparently be serving a six-game suspension at the beginning of the 2025 season.
The NFL had been seeking a suspension of six games for Rice’s 2024 involvement in a car crash, and NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that Rice will accept that punishment.
Rice was reportedly driving 119 mph at the time of a multi-vehicle crash while Rice was apparently racing another vehicle. Injuries were reported, but no deaths as a result of the crash. Rice was arrested in April 2024 on felony charges in connection with a hit-and-run. He was sentenced in July to 30 days in jail and and five years on probation.
Rice, 25, was a second-round pick by the Chiefs in 2023. He caught 79 passes for 938 yards (11.9 yards per catch) and seven touchdowns as a rookie. He played in only four games last season after suffering a knee injury.
