The Miami Dolphins are signing Rasul Douglas, adding a veteran cornerback to the roster. Douglas and the Dolphins have been in contact throughout the offseason, and now a deal is finally being signed. The agreement is a one-year contract for $3 million.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first to report the signing.
Douglas entered the NFL in 2017 as a third-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles. During his career, he has had stints with the Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders (training camp), Houston Texans (training camp), Arizona Cardinals (practice squad), Green Bay Packers, and Buffalo Bills. During his eight seasons, he has appeared in 120 games, including 80 starts, with 441 tackles, 79 passes defensed, 19 interceptions with three touchdowns, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and two sacks.
Douglas joins a cornerbacks group that includes Storm Duck, Jack Jones, Jason Marshall, Jr., Ethan Bonner, Cornell Armstrong, B.J. Adams, Isaiah Johnson, Kendall Sheffield, and Sam Smith. The team released Cameron Dantzler, Mike Hilton, and Ethan Robinson on Monday. The NFL’s deadline for all teams to be down to the 53-man roster limit is Tuesday at 4 p.m. Eastern; the addition of Douglas brings Miami up to 27 cuts remaining.
