Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

NFL preseason trades: 10 team offers for players, draft picks – ESPN

Bengals get: Edge Jalyx Hunt, 2026 third-round pick, 2027 conditional pick. Eagles get: Edge Trey Hendrickson. He can’t keep getting away with this, can he? If there’s anybody who might get creative to strike a deal for the most expensive player left on the market, it’s Philadelphia general manager Howie Roseman, who has a Super Bowl-caliber roster, a team owner perpetually willing to spend more money and questions about what was recently the league’s deepest defensive line. The Eagles lost Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham on the edge and Milton Williams on the interior this offseason, and while I like the affordable additions of Azeez Ojulari and Joshua Uche as potential replacements, there’s no question they have less up front than in previous seasons, even with their talented young holdovers on rookie deals. Could they afford Hendrickson? If they want to get creative, sure. He might need to compromise a bit to get a deal done, but the Eagles could give him a contract with what amounts to two years and $70 million in guarantees with some void years and unguaranteed money tacked on to create cap flexibility. They have just under $30 million in cap space available, so while they’ll want to roll some of that money over to next season, room under the cap isn’t really an issue.Hendrickson would have cap hits under $20 million in each of the next two seasons before both sides probably would look at addressing the contract and his future with the team in 2027. While we often think about the timeline for a quarterback’s rookie deal when considering a team’s spending philosophy, the Eagles are in position to think about things from the perspective of their defense and how inexpensive their key contributors are for years to come. Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith aren’t eligible for extensions until next offseason. Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean will be on rookie deals until 2027 at the earliest. Hendrickson would be a big bet on a player on the wrong side of 30, but it would be for someone at a premium position with a roster that can win now.

Three trades that make sense for the Eagles – PhillyVoice

Falcons EDGE Arnold Ebiketie to the Eagles for Azeez Ojulari and a third-round pick Why it makes sense for the Falcons: They drafted a pair of edge rushers in the first round in Jalon Walker and James Pearce, and they signed Leonard Floyd in free agency. They also spent a third-round pick a year ago on Bralen Trice. Ebiketie was a 2022 second-round pick who is scheduled to become a free agent next offseason. The Falcons are also light on 2026 draft capital after trading their first-round pick to land Pearce, so they can use more ammo there. Why it makes sense for the Eagles: Ebiketie has 12 sacks over the last two seasons. Five of his 6 sacks in 2024 came in the last 5 games. He would immediately become the Eagles’ third edge defender in the rotation behind Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt, and ahead of Josh Uche. The Eagles expressed some level of interest in Ebiketie in 2022, when they brought him in for a pre-draft visit.

Well, the Eagles can’t possibly win the Super Bowl now after this trade – BGN

Howie Roseman simply can’t stop making trades ahead 0f 2025 NFL roster cuts. In his third deal of the day, the Philadelphia Eagles struck a deal with the Green Bay Packers (booooooo).

Who should you draft in the first round of fantasy football leagues? – SB Nation

Saquon Barkley/Bijan Robinson (ADP, 2): Barkley and Robinson are pretty much tied for the No. 2 pick in ADP. Barkley was absolutely huge last season as he ran behind the best offensive line in the business. He topped 2,000 yards rushing and added 33 receptions for 278 yards, finishing with 15 total touchdown. Like Chase, he’ll have a tough time topping those numbers. Only nine backs have ever hit 2k yards and none have repeated the following season or ever again in their career. Barkley also went over 480 touches when you add in the Eagles’ Super Bowl run. If you don’t grab Barkley as the first running back off the board, then you are betting on regression and that the Eagles will need to throw the ball more this season. I’m making that bet. If Barkley were to drop a little in the first round, I’d grab him, but if he goes at ADP, I’ll pass.

Howie Stays Busy – Iggles Blitz

thought Kinnard had a good summer, playing well at OG and OT. I was impressed with his progress. At the same time, I’m not sure that he was ready to play key snaps in a meaningful game. The Eagles probably would have loved to put him on the practice squad, but knew he wouldn’t make it there. Trading him now secures a pick. It doesn’t feel like this will be the last trade for the Eagles. They still have a good amount of picks and have a couple of areas they might want to add to. The Eagles have arguably the best roster in the league and they still found a way to get better today.

Eagles QB coach Scot Loeffler ‘chasing perfection’ with Jalen Hurts after leaving Bowling Green – The Athletic

Sirianni, learning from his 2023 mistakes, infused his offensive staff with fresh ideas partly by including Loeffler among his outside hires. Loeffler’s “wealth of knowledge,” in Patullo’s words, contains a wide range of pro-style and spread philosophies. As Tim Tebow’s quarterbacks coach at Florida in 2009, Loeffler joined former Gators coach Urban Meyer and Addazio on the cutting edge by blending pro-style, power-run concepts into a zone-read system that morphed into a gap-read system. As Addazio’s offensive coordinator at Boston College, and later as Bowling Green’s head coach, Loeffler equipped run-oriented systems with passing concepts that attacked defenses both vertically and horizontally, each tailored to the talents of his quarterbacks. Loeffler constantly curated his playbook while watching endless hours of film. “He’s never seen a football play he doesn’t like,” Nosal said. If something caught Loeffler’s insatiable curiosity, he’d pick up the phone, attend a clinic, or sidle up to an opposing coach before a game. He had to hear the play’s genesis from its creator firsthand. Jon Gruden. Steve Sarkisian. Whoever. Loeffler had to know all the play’s little intricacies so he could adapt them to his own designs. He’d hole himself up in his office with multiple computer screens glaring, the greaseboard a cipher of scribbles. There’s a reason Nosal likes to call Loeffler, “The Beautiful Mind.”

Packers make OL trade with Eagles – Acme Packing Company

Darian Kinnard got work at both guard and tackle this summer with the Eagles, so he should be able to provide depth at both positions. This is bad news if you’re Kadeem Telfort or Donovan Jennings, who were next in line for the ninth offensive line job with the Packers. Green Bay already preserved Travis Glover’s contract by placing him on the injured reserve for the full season. Rookie seventh-round pick John Williams is also on the physically unable to perform list.

Vikings Trade Sam Howell to Eagles – Daily Norseman

Sam Howell had his struggles this preseason, reportedly not looking very good in practices. He had a solid outing against the Houston Texans in the team’s preseason opener, but did not look good against New England in the Vikings’ second preseason contest. The trading of Howell now, definitively, opens up a spot on the quarterback depth chart for the Vikings. The team brought in former top 5 pick (and former Eagle) Carson Wentz for a workout on Saturday, and signed him on Sunday morning, so the team now has a veteran presence in the quarterback room at the very least.

Jacksonville Jaguars 53-Man Roster Prediction after Preseason Finale – Big Cat Country

Offensive line (9): Walker Little, Ezra Cleveland, Robert Hainsey, Patrick Mekari, Anton Harrison, Fred Johnson, Wyatt Milum*, Jonah Monheim, Chuma Edoga. The presumed starting five of Little, Cleveland, Hainsey, Mekari, and Harrison are obviously on the 53. Wyatt Milum, who was recently listed as week-to-week with a lower body injury and swing-tackle Cole Van Lanen’s injury status could both throw a monkey wrench into this decision. With the assumption that Milum will be healthy for week one, but Cole will be on IR, that makes 9. Jonah Monheim’s dominant preseason play clearly secured his roster spot, with the team trading away Luke Fortner to the Saints. Fred Johnson and Chuma Edoga have both had a quality game week this preseason in run blocking and wrap up the offensive line depth here. [BLG Note: Just noting that this prediction had the Jags keeping Fred Johnson prior to the Eagles trading for him.]

Commanders Vs. Ravens (preseason game three) – Studs and Duds – Hogs Haven

Terry McLaurin is starting to rub fans the wrong way with his body language. And I know this comment will also rub people the wrong way…

After 3 preseason games, Cowboys RB rotation is no clearer than before – Blogging The Boys

There was also a time where Miles Sanders felt like a safe bet to start. The former Penn State star hit 700+ yards in all four seasons with Philadelphia. He didn’t even break 700 yards across two seasons in Carolina, though the Panthers hardly had the offensive line that Philadelphia did. Sanders’ talent felt ripe to earn him a starting job in Dallas. Now, though, that idea doesn’t seem so sure. Sanders only suited up against the Ravens, and he did not look good, tallying 15 yards on seven carries. Half of those yards came on one run, too. He looked more like his Panthers days than his Eagles days, to put it mildly.

Roster moves: Giants cut S K’Von Wallace, put CB T.J. Moore on IR – Big Blue View

The New York Giants announced Sunday afternoon that they’ve cut safety K’Von Wallace and placed cornerback T.J. Moore on the injured reserve. The Giants announced the moves as they whittle their roster down from 90 to 53 players by the 4 p.m. deadline on Tuesday. It was thought that Wallace was a real contender to make the Giants’ roster as the fourth safety thanks to his time with Shane Bowen at Tennessee and experience with the defensive scheme. Instead, he was one of the first 10 players cut, leaving Raheem Layne, Dane Belton, and rookie Makari Paige behind Tyler Nubin and Jevon Holland.
