Amarius Mims is a 6’8” behemoth at the Right Tackle position for the Cincinnati Bengals. After an up-and-down rookie season where he dealt with injury issues, he is looking to take that next step in being a franchise cornerstone at the right tackle position.
This offseason has not been without some setbacks in that happening, as he missed some time during camp with a right-hand injury. The injury has not kept him from playing in the first two preseason games. His performance against the Washington Commanders showed a player who could become a Pro Bowl-caliber talent as soon as this season.
There are just not many players in the NFL with his size, length, and athleticism. He plays patiently at the tackle position, which is such a crucial component of Offensive Line play when you face the likes of Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt two times a year.
If I had to criticize or nitpick a part of his game where there could be some improvement, it would be seeing him have a more physical and finishing mindset as a run blocker. If he unlocks that part of his game, the sky is the limit for Amarius Mims and the 2025 Cincinnati Bengals.
Here are all of the snaps I put together from Amarius Mims’ performance against the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football this past week.
