Our Miami Dolphins continue to work their way through their preseason schedule when they face off against the Detroit Lions this afternoon. Miami played some starters, including starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, for the first series in last week’s game against the Chicago Bears. Some teams use the second-to-last game as a dress rehearsal for the starters, often having them play the first quarter to the first half. It’s unknown how long the starters will play in this game or if any will play at all. The two teams faced off in back-to-back joint practices this past week. Miami was reportedly all but destroyed in the first practice before reportedly bouncing back to some degree in the second practice.
Following this week’s preseason game, Miami will return home for another week of training camp. As Miami has done with their first two preseason rivals, the Jacksonville Jaguars will arrive in South Florida early this coming week so that the two squads can share a joint practice on Thursday. The two teams will then face off for their final preseason game Saturday evening at Hard Rock Stadium.
