After a pair of joint practices earlier in the week, the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Cleveland Browns for their second game of the NFL preseason.
Very few of the Eagles starters saw reps in the preseason opener against the Bengals, and it’s likely that head coach Nick Sirianni makes a similar decision against the Browns. The head coach has talked about how they treat joint practices like mini-games, but the controlled environment provides better ways to protect players from getting hurt — Myles Garrett didn’t spend two days actually tackling Jalen Hurts to the ground, and for that we are thankful.
The Eagles offensive depth showed a lot of talent against Cincinnati, and should have a similar showing against Cleveland.
One group that might be a little more concerning is Philadelphia’s secondary. There are a handful of young guys, new guys, and guys trying to win a starting job, but there’s yet to be any sort of firm decision about who will be CB2, and the group struggled during practice against Joe Flacco. The former Eagles QB shredded that group on Thursday, but hopefully they look different on Saturday afternoon.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game.
