The Cincinnati Bengals were back at practice on Friday to prepare for their Monday night matchup against the Washington Commanders in Landover, Maryland. This will be their second of three preseason games, and it appears as if the Bengals are getting a little healthier.
Starting safety Geno Stone and left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. both returned to practice Friday, while Jermaine Burton and Mike Gesicki were busy working out on the rehab field, according to Paul Dehner Jr.
Only edge rusher Myles Murphy remained away from practice.
Stone was dealing with a “soft tissue” injury, and his presence in the secondary will be a welcome one, as is Joe Burrow’s blind-side protector. Hopefully, Gesicki and Burton are back in full pads soon as well. With Trey Hendrickson’s ongoing hold-in, the quicker Murphy can get back on the field, the better.
It should be noted that Amarius Mims was off to the side dealing with a wrist injury, per Kelsey Conway. He was in uniform, but was off to the side. He did eventually participate in red-zone drills, but it’s still something to monitor.
