It is finally time for the Bengals first preseason game as they take on the Eagles. Check out the latest news and discus tonight’s game.
Well the wait is finally, kind of over. The Cincinnati Bengals will be taking the field tonight, and will get a glimpse of players like Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase. They will be playing against the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles in a Thursday night exhibition game. We will see the starters, but we just don’t know how much quite yet.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR | Bengals vs. Eagles Preseason Week 1
The Bengals also welcomed back halfback Samaje Perine, who in 2025 enters his ninth NFL season and fourth overall with Cincinnati. Perine served as a valuable rotational back in his previous stint with the team from 2020-22, before moving onto Denver in 2023 and helping Kansas City capture the AFC title last year.

5 things to watch for in Bengals vs. Eagles preseason opener
“I’m going to define it for you − the first quarter,” Taylor said during an Aug. 5 news conference. “But it’s give or take. It could be a long possession that eats up most of the first quarter. Do you want them to get another one? I’ve always been in these preseason situations. You’re careful to say what I just said because it could go into the second quarter because of reps that we’ve gotten. But right now, that’s about the target period that we’ve got.”
Bengals roster bubble names at risk in preseason Week 1 vs. Eagles
Pryor is a fan favorite depth name with some really nice skills to offer. But there are at least six in front of him right now. Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Andrei Iosivas, Jermaine Burton, Charlie Jones and Isaiah Williams. Those last two names are more about special teams, though, so if Pryor can flash in the offense and show something on special teams, he still has a chance.

Right out of the gates after Hendrickson reported to the team, Stewart got a key nugget from the All-Pro, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com: “You want to be all extended when you make some kind of contact with O-linemen. If it’s not, and he reaches you, your rush is basically over. Make sure your arms are fully extended before making contact with the offensive line.” …
