Burrow is really high on Andrei Iosivas and TJ Slaton.

Joe Burrow likes where the 2025 Cincinnati Bengals are headed.

Following Wednesday’s training camp practice, Burrow met with the media and provided several quotes that will surely raise the spirits of Bengals fans entering the new season.

Earlier this offseason, Burrow revealed that his right wrist was still not fully healed following surgery on his 2023 season-ending injury.

Thankfully, Burrow says he’s now back to throwing the ball like he did before the injury.

“Best I’ve thrown in years. Excited about where our team’s at,” said Burrow.

It certainly helps when you have what he called the deepest wide receiver group the Bengals have had since he’s been QB1.

“We’re as deep as we’ve been at the receiver position since I’ve been here,” he said.

A big part of that is the continued improvement of third-year wideout Andrei Iosivas, who’s shown plenty of flashes already, but he’s also struggled with consistency while making the transition from Princeton to NFL football.

On Wednesday, Iosivas was one of the top performers of the day, hauling in several long bombs and even making a spectacular one-handed grab.

“He’s having a great camp,” Burrow said of Iosivas.

Several of Iosivas’ highlight plays came with defenders all over him, as it appears he’s making a big jump when it comes to hauling in those 50-50 balls.

“He’s doing a great job of locating it, finding it, and making an aggressive play on the ball,” said Burrow. “You know, I would say when he got here, that was not his strong suit, and he’s worked really hard at that to make it a stronger area of his game.

“And so he continues to show that in practice. He’s going to continue to get opportunities for that in the game. When you build that trust, then you’re going to get those opportunities. So he’s going to keep, keep doing that, and I’m going to keep trying to get involved.”

But as we saw last season, it can’t all be about the offense. The defense has to step up under new coordinator Al Golden, and so far, Burrow likes what he sees, especially from free agent acquisition T.J. Slaton.

“The DBs are understanding the nuances of the coverage really well, understanding where their help is, where their help isn’t, playing their leverage is really sound,” said Burrow. “And then you know the defensive line, I think Myles (Murphy) and Joseph (Ossai) are having a really good camp.

“T.J. Slaton is going to be a great player for us. The energy he brings, the physicality he brings, I’m really excited to watch that on Sundays.”
