New Las Vegas quarterback says he feels bad when he doesn’t target star tight end on every passing play

The Las Vegas Raiders had their first practice of training camp on Wednesday, and the nation is excited to see them on the field. With new quarterback Geno Smith at the helm, leading the offense, fans are expected to see a more explosive passing game.

Quality targets from both the receivers and the tight ends surround Smith. One of those players is tight end Brock Bowers, who was recently nominated as the number one TE in football by ESPN. Smith will want to build chemistry early, and having a quality passer will get the best out of the first-team All-Pro.

During his press conference on Wednesday, Geno Smith gave notice to the league that Brock Bowers is getting plenty of targets. He feels bad when he is not getting the football.

“And then I think Brock [Bowers] man, he’s an AllPro as a rookie. He’s one of the better tight ends in the NFL. I can’t give him the ball enough. I feel bad every time I don’t throw him the ball. So I’m just trying to make sure that I’m maximizing his ability, his talent, because that’s going to help our team.”

If Smith and Bowers build a rapport in training camp, it could lead to fireworks during the season. Bowers needs to become the focal point of the passing game after his performance in 2024. Smith recognizes that and will feed the superstar player accordingly.
