2024 Recap
Nebraska snapped its seven-year streak of losing seasons in 2024, finishing 7-6 and earning its first bowl win since 2015 with a victory in the Pinstripe Bowl. The defense played a significant role in the turnaround, ranking 26th nationally in EPA allowed per play. Just as important was the stability Nebraska finally found at quarterback with five-star true freshman Dylan Raiola. His 71.5 passing grade may not jump off the page, but it was a dramatic improvement from the team’s 42.4 mark in 2023, the third-worst in the FBS.
Heading into 2025, the Cornhuskers’ biggest strength is Raiola’s continued development alongside an exciting group of wide receivers. The key question is whether the defense can maintain its high level of play after losing several key contributors.
Biggest Strength: A passing game with a lot of potential
Nebraska features a rising star at quarterback in sophomore Dylan Raiola, supported by an impressive trio of wide receivers: Dane Key, Nyziah Hunter and Jacory Barney Jr.
