Is the Rams edge rusher already a top-10 NFL player?
ESPN ranked Jared Verse as the 10th-best edge rusher in the NFL. Some websites are willing to go much further than that, however. ProFootballNetwork released its top-100 list in July and Verse is top-10 alright…Top-10 overall.
PFSN ranked Verse as the ninth best player in football:
9) Jared Verse | EDGE Los Angeles Rams
Jared Verse made an immediate impact as a rookie edge rusher, finishing fourth in the NFL with 77 total pressures. His 16.3% pressure rate ranked sixth, as he consistently disrupted opposing quarterbacks.
Verse also recorded 41 defensive stops, the third-highest at the position, while adding 4.5 sacks and 15 quarterback hits. His relentless motor and explosiveness off the edge transformed the defensive front, making him a driving force of this pass rush.
As Verse heads into his sophomore campaign, expectations are understandably sky-high. He is poised to make an even greater impact after a full offseason to work on his technique. With Verse’s rare speed, power, and instincts, his sack total could climb in a significant way.
Verse was slotted in-between Derek Stingley at 10 and Ja’Marr Chase at 8, so yes, this is real. It’s not just one position or among last year’s rookie class. PFSN puts the Rams edge rusher in their top-10 overall, only a few spots behind Patrick Mahomes.
The respect doesn’t end there, as Kobie Turner was ranked 50th and Puka Nacua was 43rd. There was no sign of Matthew Stafford, who just ranked 59th in the NFL’s top-100 list this year.

Of course, PFSN’s list is odd. Cameron Heyward is second overall. They have their own criteria for what they do and it’s entirely different than what we are used to.
But by way of lists like this one, fans may get a better idea of the impact that Verse had in his first year and potentially what is to come in 2025.
