Tua Tagovailoa becomes first Dolphins player to receive orange jersey award twice this offseason.
Welcome to week two of Miami Dolphins training camp, Dolfans!
As the team took the field in hot and sunny Miami Gardens, Florida today, one player stood out from all the rest due to the orange threads he was wearing for the session. That player was quarterback Tua Tagovailoa!

Today’s recognition makes Tagovailoa the first Dolphins player to receive the orange jersey award — given to the team’s best practice player from the previous session — more than once this offseason. He was also dressed in orange during organized team activities a couple of months ago.
According to those in attendance today, Tagovailoa may have earned himself back-to-back awards as the quarterback continued to sling the football with timing and precision — leading to multiple long touchdown passes to Tyreek Hill, while also connecting with Jaylen Waddle on plenty of deep passes too.
If Tagovailoa can stay healthy — which is always a tough ask considering his lengthy injury history — the Dolphins offense should look more like 2022 and 2023 as opposed to the stagnated 2024 version that dampened fans’ expectations going into the 2025 NFL season.
