How do you feel about this major news?
OK, we’re all digesting the all digesting shocking and sudden news that the Las Vegas Raiders have released star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.
Wilkins has been recovering from a Jones fracture in his foot that prematurely ended his initial season with the Raiders after just five games. It was reported during OTAs that he suffered a setback in his recovery, which required another surgery.
After signing a four-year, $110 million contract in free agency last year, Wilkins played in just five games for the Raiders, collecting 17 tackles, two sacks and two TFLs. The defense now turns to Adam Butler, Zach Carter, Leki Fotu, Jonah Laulu, Tonka Hemingway and JJ Pegues at defensive tackle for the upcoming season, barring another addition during training camp.
This is the first real bad news suffered by the new Las Vegas regime. Do you think it’s just a speed bump in a promising 2025 season or a sign of bad things to come for a franchise used to bad things happening?
