Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel tells reporters that Liam Eichenberg will be out an extended period of time while he rehabs recent injury.
The Miami Dolphins will take the field for their first training camp practice on Wednesday, however, offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg won’t be joining his teammates on the gridiron. Head coach Mike McDaniel spoke with the media ahead of the session and relayed that the 27-year-old will miss “weeks” of action while rehabbing a recent injury.
Here’s what McDaniel had to say about Eichenberg’s timeline for return:
“Liam is weeks. What is that? Regular season? I’m not going to put a timeline on it. I wouldn’t bet against, arguably, as tough of a player as I’ve been around. He’s played in football games that a majority of players I’ve coached wouldn’t be able to, so I’m feeling good about an unknown timeline because of the player. It’s not like a season ender or anything like that.”
Yesterday, the Dolphins placed Eichenberg on the physically unable to perform list and signed versatile offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill. Brunskill will get the opportunity to prove to his teammates and coaches that he can be an important contributor to Miami’s revamped offensive line, as he has played all five positions — tackle, right and left guard, and center — during his six seasons in the National Football League.
