Lions DI Levi Onwuzurike will miss the season with a torn ACL
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike will miss the entire 2025 season after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL, per head coach Dan Campbell.
A back injury caused Onwuzurike to miss the 2022 season and limited him to just 164 snaps in 2023. He bounced back in a big way last season, playing 697 snaps and earning a 70.2 PFF overall grade to rank 25th out of 118 qualifying interior defenders. He was a strong penetrator inside, generating 47 pressures and placing among the top 15 at his position with a 12.5% pass-rush win rate.
Moving forward, the Lions will have to lean heavily on 2025 first-round pick Tyleik Williams to help fill the void, especially early on with Alim McNeill starting camp on the PUP list.
Titans QB Will Levis will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery
Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery and miss the 2025 season, the team announced early Monday morning.
Levis originally hurt his shoulder early last season before further aggravating it later in the year. He opted not to undergo surgery in the offseason but has experienced discomfort recently and will look to return in 2026 with a full bill of health.
Levis struggled in 2024, finishing the year with a 54.9 PFF overall grade (39th out of 42 qualifying quarterbacks). He racked up more turnover-worthy plays (17) than big-time throws (15) and was sacked 41 times.
Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle will now compete for the Titans’ backup spot behind No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward.
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin will not participate in team activities to begin training camp
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin will not be present for the start of team activities in training camp, according to the Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud.
Godwin is still recovering from a dislocated ankle that he suffered in Week 7, promptly ending his 2024 season. Despite the gruesome injury, Godwin re-signed with the Buccaneers for $66 million across three years in March and reportedly turned down better offers elsewhere.
At the time of his injury, Godwin was in the middle of another excellent season in Tampa Bay. He caught 50 of 60 passes for 576 yards and five touchdowns in just seven games. His 86.3 PFF overall grade placed him among the top 10 wide receivers in the NFL.
Second-year wideout Jalen McMillan and rookie first-round pick Emeka Egbuka will step up and earn more work in camp for however long Godwin is sidelined. If he is healthy, the Buccaneers will enter the season on the short list for having one of the best wide receiver units in the league.
Commanders WR Terry McLaurin seeking contract extension heading into camp
Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin will “explore every option, including a holdout, hold-in and a trade” as he seeks a contract extension from the team heading into camp, according to FOX Sports’ Henry McKenna.
Veterans will report to camp Tuesday, but it’s still unclear whether McLaurin will be present. He has been a model of consistency since entering the league in 2019, finishing with at least 77 receptions and 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past five seasons, including a career-best 13 touchdowns last year.
The former third-round pick out of Ohio State has earned a 75.1 PFF overall grade or better in all six years and plays an important role in the upstart Commanders offense, fresh off an NFC Championship game appearance last season.
