All-Under-25 Team: Jayden Daniels, Jared Verse among NFL’s top young stars entering 2025 season – NFL.com
JALEN CARTER: When you turn on Carter’s tape, it’s impossible to not notice his blend of power, speed and pure force, especially when he’s rushing the passer. Carter is incredibly gifted in this department and served as a key part of an Eagles defense that overwhelmed opponents en route to a Super Bowl LIX triumph. There is room for him to improve against the run, but he has the tools. With a Pro Bowl to his name and a small portion of Defensive Player of the Year votes in 2024, Carter has already landed on the national radar. Expect him to stay there. NAKOBE DEAN: After serving as a rotational player for two seasons, Dean stepped into a full-time role in 2024 and flourished, racking up 128 tackles, three sacks, four passes defensed and one interception. His jump in production was remarkable enough to earn him a few Comeback Player of the Year votes, and while he could still improve in coverage, Dean proved the ball-chasing instincts that he displayed at Georgia were still in him last season. As a defender with three pro campaigns under his belt before his 25th birthday, Dean might be seen as a bit of a late bloomer, but better late than never. [BLG Note: No Quinyon Mitchell or Cooper DeJean here with Derek Stingley and Trent McDuffie making the team.]
My top 10 Eagles of the last quarter century – BGN
1. Jalen Hurts. I’ve seen all the other lists. I’ve seen what others are saying about Jalen Hurts. I know all the ways in which he doesn’t measure up to his contemporaries and I know he has his deficiencies. The problem is that people allow their nitpicking of those issues to cloud reality. Simply put, Jalen Hurts is the greatest winner the Eagles have ever had under center. He is the fulfillment of what was promised with Randall Cunningham and Donovan McNabb. He plays his best games in the biggest moments, as evidenced by his two other-worldly efforts in his two Super Bowls. Has he benefitted from outstanding rosters in his two Super Bowl seasons? Absolutely. He’s not the only one. Joe Montana had Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Roger Craig and Bill Walsh. Troy Aikman had Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin and Jimmy Johnson. John Elway had Terrell Davis, some great receivers and Mike Shanahan. How many Hall of Famers did Terry Bradshaw play with? Every great QB had great talent around them when they won a Super Bowl.
In Roob’s Eagles Observations: A Howie Roseman strength we don’t talk about enough – NCBSP
1. It’s an annual rite of summer that star players demand new contracts or hold out from camp or ask for trades or threaten to retire. You see it all over the league this time of year. Even though most of those ugly situations eventually get resolved, they often leave hard feelings, cause tension in the locker room and create future problems with other players. One reason Joe Banner didn’t give T.O. a contract extension when he held out in the summer of 2005 was that if he did, he knew a bunch of agents representing other members of the 2004 Super Bowl team would be in his office the next day demanding new contracts. You have to really be careful when players threaten you. If you give in, you can really open the floodgates. Year after year, Howie Roseman has managed to avoid that sort of stuff. The last Eagles player to hold out from training camp was DeSean Jackson, who missed the first 11 days of training camp at Lehigh in 2011 in a contract dispute. By taking care of important contracts early, paying fair market value for deserving players and cutting ties with guys who he knows will have future contract issues, Roseman has managed to avoid ugly contract situations for most of his GM tenure. Zach Ertz in 2021 could have gotten ugly but never did. Other than that? It’s been smooth sailing and that’s huge. Contract drama can really have a damaging effect on a team. Just another thing Roseman is really good at.
Eagles Super Bowl LIX Championship Ring: Inside the design of a masterpiece – PE.com
The five diamonds on the special feature button underscore the five Eagles who scored points in Super Bowl LIX – Jalen Hurts (three total touchdowns), A.J. Brown (12-yard receiving touchdown), DeVonta Smith (46-yard receiving touchdown), Cooper DeJean (interception returned for a touchdown), and Jake Elliott (most kicking points and tied for most field goals made in Super Bowl history).
New Eagles Super Bowl ring includes engraved Brazilian flag – PFT
Super Bowl rings include plenty of subtle details. The Eagles’ new ring has an obvious one. Engraved on the inside is a Brazilian flag. It commemorates the fact that the road to Super Bowl LIX began in São Paulo, with a 34-29 win over the Packers.

Report: Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons to report to training camp amid contract negotiations – Blogging The Boys
Sunday is the official report day for the Cowboys and their first practice in Oxnard, California will take place on Tuesday. It should be noted here that Parsons, who is in the middle of contract negotiations with the Cowboys, has said for a few months now that he would report to training camp even without a new deal (he also reported to mandatory offseason things up to this point) so that this isn’t shocking, but it means that there will be no change up at the last second. [BLG Note: No hold out … but probably a hold in.]
Tyler Smith’s contract among things to watch at Cowboys camp – ESPN
1. Aside from Micah Parsons’ contract situation, I wonder if the Cowboys look to extend the contract of Pro Bowl left guard Tyler Smith while in Oxnard. With the retirement of Zack Martin, Smith is the leader of the group. Technically, he is under contract through 2026 since the Cowboys have already picked up his fifth-year option. But why not get ahead of these things when it comes to players the team will want around for years to come? The Cowboys did something similar with Trevon Diggs back in 2023, although injuries have caused Diggs to miss 21 games the past two years. Smith is everything the Cowboys want in a lineman. He is tough, smart, strong, just 24 years old, and he grew up not far from The Star. It will be a pretty penny, likely something along the lines of becoming the highest-paid guard in the NFL. The Kansas City Chiefs signed Trey Smith to a four-year deal worth $94 million. The Eagles’ Landon Dickerson was the highest-paid guard at $21 million per; now it’s $23.5 million for Trey Smith. Would the Cowboys be wise to match that? Go a little higher in the average? Probably so.
‘Things I think’ as New York Giants training camp approaches – Big Blue View
Another 3-14 season would truly be awful. It would probably lead to Daboll being fired. Maybe GM Joe Schoen, too. It might lead to star players like Lawrence, Malik Nabers and others begging to be sent to new NFL homes. It might lead to another organizational upheaval, and the arrival of a regime that doesn’t believe in Dart. All of that would leave the Giants, who on paper seem to finally be making some progress toward sustainable improvement, back at square one. Here, though, is another take on what might be a worst-case scenario. What if the Giants are good enough to be on the edge of the playoff race throughout the season. The Giants decide to go for it, and believe sticking with the veterans Wilson and Winston gives them the best chance to get there. They fall short, and never get a meaningful regular-season look at Dart. In my view, that’s a double-edged dagger.
NFL Draft 2026 rankings: Top-10 EDGE rushers from a loaded class – SB Nation
With the college football season coming up quickly, it’s time for NFL fans to get acquainted with the next NFL draft class coming up. What the 2025 class lacked in depth at the top of the class, the 2026 group has so much flash and pop at the front of the class at premium positions. The QB class gets the most acclaim, as does the tackle class, but we’re not focusing on those guys yet. Let’s talk about the big guys up front, starting with an EDGE class that I think has a lot of promise. The star power is tantalizing at the top, but throughout the entire group there are guys with the potential to rise up the chart. In fact, some of my favorite players in this class at this early portion in the cycle are in the EDGE class. So, let’s break down my top ten right now. Remember, this isn’t set in stone and will be fluid by the time we come back around during the college football season.
