8. New York Giants. There are certainly aspects of the Big Blue revamp to like. New York boasts a potential game-wrecking defensive front with No. 3 overall pick Abdul Carter joining Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence. Receiver Malik Nabers is a stud and could be even more productive in his second season with a stable QB situation. There is little doubt that the Giants upgraded the signal-caller room with the additions of Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and first-rounder Jaxson Dart. (Of course, compared to what they employed last year, that isn’t saying much.) I don’t think the Giants are three-win bad. However, Wilson hasn’t proven lately he’s a game-altering QB. He’s been inconsistent and panicky in the pocket. The ever-present questions along New York’s offensive line won’t do him any favors. Dart is a wild card. With a coaching staff squarely under pressure to produce positive results, the rookie could be forced into action earlier than planned. Even if we can buy that the G-Men are better in 2025, expecting them to completely leap over the Super Bowl champs, the Jayden Daniels-led Commanders and a Cowboys club getting Dak Prescott back is a nonstarter.

Malik Nabers (NYG, WR5). He’s hamstrung because of his quarterback situation, but that didn’t crush his value last year. Nabers was top-10 in targets in the red zone and inside the 10-yard line, where he ranked third (in percentage). He was the 10th fastest player in max speed, just a whisker above Marvin Harrison (I’m surprised he didn’t trounce Harrison). However, he won just three of 17 tight targets, a win rate that was 74th among WRs. His yards after catch were negative relative to expected. Nabers can fairly be called a volume player, but I think the targets are earned. Overall, I’m slightly below market on Nabers.

Jon Runyan just spilled the worst kept secret in Giants land: He had surgery this offseason.
On a recent episode of the Giants Huddle podcast, the veteran guard revealed that he did, in fact, undergo a procedure for the ankle injury he sustained in December 2024.
“Yep, had surgery back in mid-December,” Runyan said, via the Giants Huddle podcast. “Stayed up here the whole offseason. We have a great training staff, great doctors that helped me along the way.

9. Giants trading up for Jaxson Dart in the 2025 NFL Draft. While we shouldn’t expect a C.J. Stroud or Jayden Daniel-type rookie season from Dart, his arrival to the Big Apple is primed to shake up the organization in some way, shape or form. The club has been adamant that Russell Wilson, who signed with the Giants in free agency, will be the Week 1 starter. However, it does seem like it’ll only be a matter of time before Dart leaps over him. Already during offseason workouts, Dart worked with the first and second team offense, so he seemed to be vying for playing time earlier than expected.

Reserve Michael Strahan. Strahan made the cut largely because of his historic 2001 season that saw him record a league single season record 21.5 sacks. Garrett (the 2023 DPOY winner) made it because of his pass rushing prowess along with his ability to move around the line of scrimmage.
