The Bengals get their second-round pick under contract.
The Cincinnati Bengals have signed second-round pick Demetrius Knight to his rookie contract.
Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz broke the news on Saturday that Knight had signed his rookie deal, which came on the day rookies are reporting to the team ahead of next week’s training camp. Schultz adds that nearly 80% of the contract is fully guaranteed at signing.
The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Knight is one of the oldest prospects in this year’s draft at 25 years old. He was originally a class of 2019 recruit as a quarterback before moving to linebacker at Georgia Tech. He played there from 2019-22, then transferred to Charlotte, and finally to South Carolina ahead of the 2024 season.
In the 2024 season, Knight racked up 82 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, and three interceptions while earning a standout 82.8 grade from Pro Football Focus.
Now, it’s time to get Shemar Stewart signed.
Sources: The #Bengals and 2nd-round LB Demetrius Knight Jr. have agreed to a 4-year rookie deal with nearly 80 percent fully guaranteed at signing. It’s the first time in NFL history that the 49th pick has had guarantees in year four.
