Random Ramsdom; Tutu Atwell under the radar?

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 7/18/25

This will be Tutu Atwell’s fifth season in the NFL and his fifth season with the Los Angeles Rams, are we about to see Atwell’s best professional season to date? I don’t know, I kinda get the sense that Atwell is good, but he’s not an alpha in a wide receiver room, and so I am not sure I’d consider him an under the radar player, but sure, I get the argument.

Whether it’s a lack of usage or even injury (if memory serves Atwell missed a good chunk of his rookie season, the same season that the Rams went on to win the Super Bowl, please correct me if I am wrong) Atwell has not taken off at the NFL level, but he’s been productive. I don’t think you can say Atwell has been a bust, but maybe that he hasn’t lived up to his second-round draft pedigree?

Atwell’s an interesting player, I am rooting for him and I hope he does become a weapon and top piece in the Rams’ offense because he’s proven that he can be very fun to watch. He’s fast, he’s got solid hands, he seems like someone to root for as I don’t think I’ve read a controversial thing about him. He’s a player, Will he become a baller?

Please comment on whatever you want, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and happy Friday!

Rams $10 Million Receiver Named Under the Radar Player (heavy.com)

“The Rams put at least three wide receivers on the field at the second-highest rate in the NFL last year, and after adding Davante Adams to pair with Puka Nacua this offseason, Los Angeles has a really strong top two,” Pereles said. “But No. 3? That role falls to Atwell, the diminutive 2021 second-rounder who has increased his receptions, receiving yards and catch rate every season. In his four highest snap-share games, he averaged five catches and 71 receiving yards. He has speed no other player on Los Angeles’ offense has.”

Countdown to Camp: What rookie Terrance Ferguson can bring to Rams’ tight end room (therams.com)

“I’m excited about Terrance Ferguson,” said head coach Sean McVay on the June 18 minicamp recap show. “I like his demeanor, I like his ability to learn from (tight ends coach) Scott Huff, Tyler Higbee. He’s a guy we expect to contribute and to be able to do some good things, but that’s going to be earned.”

Coming from an Oregon team that shares some schemes with the Rams, Ferguson said his existing knowledge, along with veteran guidance, has helped him pick up Los Angeles’ offense quickly. Last year, he totaled 43 receptions (a single-season tight end record for the Ducks) and 591 receiving yards (second all-time).”

NFL All-Pro Wants Record Rams’ Matthew Stafford Helped Set (si.com)

“That doesn’t mean the NFL isn’t trying as All-Pro and 2024 Triple Crown winner Ja’Marr Chase stated he wants the record and believes he and his LSU teammate Justin Jefferson are the only ones who could finally eclipse the 2,000 yards mark.

“The next three years, somebody has to do it, if it’s not me,” Chase said to CBS Sports.

So will Chase get it? 2024 was Chase’s best statistical season, recording 1,708 or about 100 yards per game.

Jefferson’s best season was back in 2022, when he won NFL Offensive Player of the Year. He recorded 1,809 yards or 106 yards per game.”
