Did Rams get fair grade for offseason moves?

Did Rams get fair grade for offseason moves?

Yahoo Sports gave the Rams a B- for their 2025 offseason

The Los Angeles Rams made a few big moves in the offseason, including releasing Cooper Kupp, signing Davante Adams and Poona Ford, and trading their first round pick for a future first round pick from the Atlanta Falcons. Did they get significantly better or noticeably worse based on their 2025 offseason moves?

It’s hard to tell by their offseason grade from Yahoo Sports, which has given Les Snead’s Rams a B- for 2025:

This time the Rams made a smart move to trade their first-round pick and a third-rounder to the Falcons for second- and seventh-round picks this year and a 2026 first-round pick. That’s a good investment. The Rams’ draft class itself ended up OK anyway. Tight end Terrance Ferguson (second round) could have an impact right away, defensive end Josaiah Stewart (third round) is another promising young piece on defense, fourth-round pick Jarquez Hunter is a name to watch at running back and linebacker Chris Paul Jr. provided good value as a fifth-round selection.

Grade: B-

Snead was praised for the draft day trade with the Falcons, which gives the Rams an extra first round pick in 2026.

He also got credit for upgrading at receiver with Adams and adding Ford in free agency. Although the Rams won’t be seeing an immediate return on investment for the contract paid to A.J. Jackson, who is experiencing an issue related to blood clots, Snead was able to sign experienced veteran D.J. Humphries as a fallback option. Those moves were also praised.

In fact, there was almost nothing negative said about L.A.’s offseason whatsoever. It makes you wonder if a B- grade doesn’t do it justice. What would have the Rams have needed to do to get an A?

Elsewhere in the article, Matthew Stafford is credited as one of the NFC’s best quarterbacks and the Rams are expected to make the playoffs yet again.

There are still questions about the run defense and the cornerback position, but it’s reasonable to believe a very young defense improves after last season’s strong finish. If L.A.’s defense grows and Matthew Stafford remains at his level, the Rams could win the NFC West again. And as we saw last postseason, they could be a very tough out.

It was not a flashy offseason for the Rams this year. Maybe that’s exactly the type of offseason that they need.
