Andrew Thomas cracked the top 10 of ESPN’s positional rankings for the second consecutive season.

Despite playing in only six games during the 2024 season, Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas has still managed to draw praise from executives and coaches from around the NFL this offseason.

Every year, ESPN puts together top-10 rankings for every position group in the league which is voted on by an anonymous group of NFL executives, coaches, and scouts. The individual rankings collected are averaged out to create their finalized lists.

This offseason, Thomas just made the cut at No. 10 one year after ranking No. 8 on this same list a year ago. And insanely enough, at least one of those surveyed ranked Thomas as the number one offensive tackle in the NFL. To show just how polarized NFL staffers are on Thomas and where he’s at in his career, his lowest ranking was completely left off of the top 10.

Here’s what analyst Jeremy Fowler had to say about Thomas’ ranking, along with what other anonymous surveyors had to add:

“It’s hard to call Thomas an upside play entering Year 6, but some evaluators see a premier tackle who could be one of the best if he puts together a complete performance in 2025.”

“A knee issue limited Thomas to six games last season. He still stopped the run at a high level (79.9 run block win rate) when he was out there”.

“‘He was trending into the elite before the injury,’ a veteran AFC personnel evaluator said. ‘They were almost writing him off (in New York) early on but he’s blossomed.’”

“Thomas’ performance mirrored Darrisaw’s, with an 89.0 pass block win rate on 234 opportunities.”

Per Pro Football Focus, Thomas earned a 75.4 overall season grade in 2024. That ranked 24th among qualifying tackles. He was fairly even in both pass blocking and run blocking, earning a 73.8 and 71.8 in those areas last season, respectively.

Wildly enough, the league’s top-voted offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs, had one of the largest differences between his season pass and run block grades. He owned the league’s top mark in pass protection at 94.1, but his run block grade of 62.8 ranked 62nd. So while it’s a bit of a silver lining, Thomas seems to be a consistent player across the board, which is likely why there’s a group that believes his best football is still ahead of him.

Do you all agree with Thomas’ placement on these rankings? Should he be higher? Lower? Let us know in the comments below!
