This can be a coach, executive, owner, etc.
We already know about the legends who have suited up for the Los Angeles Rams in its history. The franchise has also seen countless other icons come through as well, including Dick Vermeil, Mike Martz, Chuck Knox, Wade Phillips and many, many more.
Back in March, I asked fans to name their favorite non-Rams players of all time, and the comments were so much fun to read! Everyone who participated in the discussion name-dropped some truly elite and legendary players.
This time, I decided to run it back with a similar post and ask fans for their favorite non-Rams figures of all time. By figure, I mean coaches, executives, owners, water boys (Bobby Boucher, anyone?), etc.
To start, I’ll mention mine: Vince Lombardi.
There’s a reason why the trophy teams hoist after winning the Super Bowl is named in honor of the legendary Packers coach. Lombardi was a once-in-a-lifetime figure, and the league was a more special place when he was roaming the sidelines. Also, watching reels of him on NFL Films is always a delight.
Hall of Fame Broncos owner Pat Bowlen is another one of my favorites. Bowlen should have been put into the Hall sooner—way before Jerry Jones, I might add—but Denver was a consistent force under him. At one point during his tenure, the Broncos had as many Super Bowl appearances as losing seasons. Jerry would never.
Turf Show Ramily, who are some of your favorite non-Rams figures of all time? Please let us know in the comments!
