Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 7/10/25
If reports are true that Kyren Williams is more explosive coming into this upcoming season, then fans and the team could be in for a very special year at running back with Williams at the helm.
As he enters his fourth NFL campaign, Williams has been a very good running back for the Los Angeles Rams (specifically the past two seasons), but has he been great? I think one could argue yes, and one could say no, depending on the stats you choose to look at.
In terms of yards and production, Williams has been great. In terms of explosive plays and costly fumbles, I think you could argue not so much.
Now, will Williams and the Rams be better this year than the past two years? Great question. We’ll have to wait and see.

Kyren Williams’ improved explosiveness has ‘stood out’ to Rams RBs coach (ramswire)
“The first thing that stood out to us was his explosiveness,” Gould told Wyatt Miller of TheRams.com. “… One of the things (I noticed) was just his ability to stay grounded through some of his runs that was really, really evident in the work that he’s put in, so really, really pleased with that.”
Williams has every reason to be motivated entering this pivotal year in Los Angeles, which is the final year of his rookie contract. His agent and the Rams have been discussing a potential extension for months and though no deal has been agreed to yet, it’s possible something will get done before the start of the season.”

Listing the Rams, NFC West’s Most Tradable Assets (si.com)
“Los Angeles Rams: Byron Young. I’d like to make it clear that if I were the Rams’ general manager, Byron Young would be on a no-trade list as I believe he’s on the verge of a career year, but unfortunately for my bank account, I’m not.
Young is a promising pass rusher who will need to receive an extension next offseason or he’ll be a free agent after 2026. He’s the Rams most tradeable asset after they drafted Josaiah Stewart and the Rams may load up on capital in pursuit of a quarterback if 2025 goes awry. His extension is due at the same time as Puka Nacua’s, Kobie Turner’s, and Steve Avila’s.”
“I’m better as a coach, then I think that’s gonna reflect on the players.”
