Do you consider Achane one of the best running backs in the National Football League?
ESPN is filling time this offseason by compiling rankings of the top ten players in each position group across the National Football League.
For defensive tackles, Miami Dolphins standout Zach Sieler was ranked outside of the top ten by “league executives, coaches and scouts,” but did receive recognition in the honorable mentions category.
Another Dolphins star was also recently ranked outside of the top ten at his position — electric third-year running back De’Von Achane. Achane took over as lead tailback for Miami last season after splitting time with former Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert in 2023. The former third-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft compiled 907 yards rushing and 6 scores on the ground last season while also netting 78 receptions for 592 yards and 6 receiving touchdowns.
Here is what an anonymous AFC executive had to say about Achane’s honorable mention ranking in ESPN’s survey:
“Elite speed and explosion. Could wear down because he’s small. Similar to [Jamyr] Gibbs. He just gets banged up. Runs very hard for how small he is and should get out on the perimeter more as a pass catcher.”

Do you agree with Achane’s ranking on ESPN’s list? Would you rate him higher or lower based on his production for the Dolphins? Do you expect him to outperform last year’s numbers during the 2025 NFL season? Let me know on Twitter/X at @MBrave13 and/or in the comment section below! Fins up!
