‘In the fight of his life,’ ex-Texans linebacker Bryan Braman battles rare form of cancer, J.J. Watt donates $10,000 – Click2Houston
Retired former Texans linebacker Bryan Braman, a popular special-teams ace known for his aggressive, hell-bent-for-leather style of play, is battling a rare, aggressive, and recurring form of cancer. The medical situation is extremely serious, according to his longtime agent Sean Stellato. Braman has undergone treatment in Seattle and is with his family. He has had multiple surgeries. Several former teammates have donated to his GoFundMe page,, including J.J. Watt giving $10,000, $2,500 from Duane Brown, and $1,000 from Brian Cushing and former Eagles teammates Rasul Douglas, Brent Celek and Emmanuel Acho. Over $32,000 has been raised as of Thursday night. “At Stellato Sports, Bryan Braham has always stood for strength, resilience and leadership,” Stellato told KPRC 2. “He is a pillar and a staple of the underdog. Now, in the face of cancer, he embodies those qualities more than ever. If there is one person that I know that can beat cancer, it is Bryan Braman, who I have always considered family. He’s in the fight of his life. Please support Bryan and keep him in your prayers.” [BLG Note: Here is the direct link to the GoFundMe. Here’s hoping Bryan gets well soon!
Eagles schedule preview: Los Angeles Chargers – BGN
Biggest question facing this team: Do they have the horses to run with the top of the AFC? It was no surprise that Jim Harbaugh immediately made the Chargers a winning team. They were 1st in scoring defense, and Justin Herbert had the most efficient season of his career. This is what Harbaugh does, he makes his team hell to play against and, even with Greg Roman as his play caller, gets good seasons out of his QBs. But Harbaugh and Herbert alone won’t get the Chargers into the next tier in the AFC. This team needs more talent to move up from being good enough to win double digit games but not good enough to make a playoff run. They scored 17 or fewer points in 7 games last year, and 20% of their points scored were against the Patriots and Raiders in the final two games of the season. This is a team that employs Jalen Reagor.
With his mentor Brandon Graham gone, Eagles edge rusher Nolan Smith is ready to ‘bring my own flavor’ – Inquirer
“I’m ready for that role, but I can’t replace BG and what he does,” Smith said. “I can only try my best to see how he did it and what he does, and also bring my own flavor to it. I’m always going to be a juice guy and I always talk to my guys and tell them to meet me at the ball and stuff like that. That gets guys going.” Smith, who is still recovering from a February surgery to repair the injury he played through during the second half of the Super Bowl, was limited to individual drills during OTAs and minicamp. But watching on the sidelines during team drills offered a different perspective, he said. “I took a step back, but I also got to see it from a different lens,” Smith said. “I got to see how it all works together. I was mostly sitting back and watching guys, but also cheering them on.“I love our guys. We’re a group and we’re all rushing together and learning from each other.”
9 names of note from CFL Negotiation Lists – CFL
SYDNEY BROWN | DEFENSIVE BACK | TORONTO ARGONAUTS. While twin brother Chase Brown was drafted in the seventh round of the CFL selection showcase in 2023, Sydney Brown was not, which means his rights were up for grabs and Toronto gobbled them up happily. The London, Ontario native would be a massive fan favourite if he ever decided to come home but this Super Bowl champion has much more to accomplish in the NFL before ever contemplating that.
Commanders fans are extremely bullish about the upcoming season – Hogs Haven
Ninety-seven percent of respondents predicted a winning record for the Commanders, with 82% expecting the team to produce at least 11 wins. When it comes to the division championship, a majority of Hogs Haven readers believe that the two-decade long streak without a repeat champion in the NFC East will remain unbroken, with 56% saying that the Washington Commanders will hang another division banner at the end of the ‘25 season, while 41% expect a Philadelphia repeat. The NFC East championship seems to be a two-horse race in the minds of the survey respondents, with only 3% predicting that the Cowboys or Giants would grab the division crown.
Dak Prescott primed for Tyrese Haliburton type year after ridiculous “overrated” label – Blogging The Boys
All of the pieces are in place for Prescott to come back stronger than ever. The claim that he’s overrated was ludicrous to begin with, and it may have just added even more fire to the player who was the MVP runner-up the last time he played a proper season. Much like Haliburton just did, Prescott is primed to have an incredible season and leave no doubt that it was ridiculous to ever consider him overrated in the first place. [BLG Note: Cowboys fans defend Dak like he’s actually ever accomplished anything meaningful at the NFL level.]
Survey Results: Giants fans are expecting average explosiveness from the offense – Hogs Haven
The positive takeaway here is that 94 percent of fans think the Giants offense will be more explosive in 2025. Of those, most believe the Giants would improve to “average” in explosiveness — a mark we set at 24 points per game and 60 passes of 20+ air yards. That would ultimately mean an offense that is slightly above average as compared to 2025, and an average of 22.9 points per game. The next largest chunk of fans think the team will make a relatively slight improvement and settle at roughly 20 points per game and 45 passes over 20 yards downfield. There are good reasons to think that the Giants’ offense will attack downfield more often and be more explosive overall. As Nick pointed out recently, Russell Wilson was one of the best deep ball passers in the NFL last year.
