Can anyone catch the Eagles? NFC East 2025 preview | The Athletic
Better than 2024? Yes. This team is much improved. On paper. Their defensive line is the league’s most talented, their secondary is better after signing CB Paul Debo and S Jevon Holland, and their quarterback situation can’t be worse. But the league’s toughest schedule, based on both opponents’ winning percentage from 2024 and projected win totals for 2025, makes six wins a positive outcome here.
Archie Manning: Glad Another Ole Miss QB is a Giant
“I was excited for Jaxson to be drafted in the first round, particularly to the New York Giants.”

One lingering question for every NFL team as the league’s summer break begins | The Athletic
How long until Jaxson Dart takes over? The Giants selected Jaxson Dart with the 25th pick in the draft in the hopes that he’ll be their quarterback of the future. How soon that future will begin is the question hanging over the organization. The Giants brought in Russell Wilson to serve two functions. First, Wilson gives a regime coming off a 3-14 season a chance to win games this season. Second, Wilson’s presence should afford Dart the necessary time to develop. How Wilson and the team fare and how Dart progresses will determine how long until the 22-year-old takes the reins.
Who’s on the hot seat entering the 2025 season? | Pro Football News
2. Giants coach Brian Daboll. On one day, Giants co-owner John Mara said he’d be sticking with G.M. Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll. Then, Mara said he’s running out of patience. It’s a mixed message to Daboll as to the potential impact of the upcoming season, and it necessarily puts him on the hot seat.
It shouldn’t. The Giants are in a difficult division. They need plenty of help from a talent standpoint. Mara should give his current regime more time. And not just a commitment that ultimately feels temporary. That’s precisely how it feels in New York.
2025 NFL offseason: Biggest surprise players on each team | ESPN.com
S Dane Belton. Earlier this offseason, it appeared as if he was about to become an afterthought following the signing of Jevon Holland. But think again. “He has been really good for us here early. Like he’s had a really good spring,” defensive coordinator Shane Bowen said. “[We’re] finding ways to get him on the field, what he can do for us to help us.”
Belton was making plays seemingly every practice this spring. He had three interceptions in the five workouts open to the media. Even if he’s not a starter it appears that the fourth-round pick in 2022 will have a role as the third safety. And why not? When he’s on the field he has consistently created turnovers and made plays.

25 Questions in 25 Days: What we have learned about Abdul Carter (so far) | Giants.com
23) What have we learned about OLB Abdul Carter since the Giants drafted him third overall? As Daboll mentioned, Carter’s speed getting off the line of scrimmage certainly stood out. On numerous occasions during team drills, the ball would be snapped and within the blink of an eye, Carter would be in the quarterback’s face. His quickness and ability to bend the edge is something special, but don’t take it from me. Here’s what the guys playing with him — and against him — have said about the rookie edge rusher.

5. Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence. The 340-pounder has the strength to collapse the pocket when bull-rushing, in addition to the quickness and movement skills to beat guards and centers across their faces with finesse moves. That’s how he managed to set a career high with nine sacks last season despite playing in a career-low 12 games.
As a perfect complement to Lawrence, Burns has been a menace on the edge since he entered the league six years ago. The 2024 free-agent signing has had at least 7.5 sacks every season, including racking up 8.5 during his first campaign with the New York Giants last fall.
